The 10th China International Silver Conference

In 2010, the world's main economies continued implementing easy monetary policies and proactive fiscal policies to promote the global economic recovery, among which stood out the growing economies. While it helped stimulate the world economy, it also brought a series of problems. Commodity prices kept rising under the effect of inflation. According to statistics, international silver prices were up 83% in 2010, making silver the brightest among all metals. Entering 2011, silver prices continue to go up in the global market, constantly breaking record highs since 1980. Along with the bull market is the concern of all market participants: can silver prices go higher in the future?

As the world's third largest silver producing country, China also plays an important role in silver consumption and export. The year 2011 marks the beginning of the Twelfth Five-Year Plan, with various industrial plans and policies to be expected. The development of the metal industry in the coming five years will focus on closing down backward production facilities, promoting energy conservation and encouraging technological innovation. While industrial policies in the metal industry are being adjusted to the macro economy, what change will they bring to the silver industry? As it supports silver demand, the economic recovery keeps driving the prices up. How should enterprises respond to the high prices?

Under such circumstances, China General Chamber of Commerce, together with The Silver Institute, Chongqing Municipal People's Government, China Nonferrous Metals Industry Association, China Chamber of Commerce of Metals Minerals & Chemicals Importers and Exporters and Gems & Jewelry Trade Association of China, will host the 10th China International Silver Conference at the Kingworld Hotel in Chongqing from October 19 to 21, 2011. 2011, with Shanghai White Platinum & Silver Exchange organizing the conference. We will invite delegates from National Development and Reform Commission, industrial association leaders, experts and scholars in domestic and international financial and scientific fields to discuss issues regarding the global financial market, macro-economic policies, precious metals industrial policies, silver demand and industrial innovation. After the conference, there will be a visit to the third municipal-level new area, Chongqing Liangjiang New Area.
