The Purple People Beaters were outside the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, in Syracuse, New York. According to Syracuse.com, the SEIU is protesting the diocese’s plan to dissolve a nonprofit corporation that operates cemeteries. As a result of the dissolution, six grave diggers affected by the plan will need to reapply for their jobs. According to SEIU protesters, the plan is “union busting.”
