It is becoming more and more obvious, with the type of legislation being introduced into Congress that this country has lost the freedom and independence it once had and is being more and more entwined in the grasping tentacles of collectivism. With the last presidential election this country took a giant step down the garden path of socialism and the type of legislation now being put forth in Congress is a reflection of that.
For instance, only very recently the Senate voted to act upon a bill which would define the entire nation as a "battlefield" thus allowing the U.S. Military to arrest American citizens, literally in their own back yards, with no charge or trial. Just scoop 'em up and haul 'em off, no due process needed. This bill was drafted, in secret, (how else do they do this kind of thing?) by Senators Carl Levin and John McCain. Now there is a collectivist pair to draw to if ever there was one!
The bill was passed in a closed-door committee meeting, with no hearing. The language in it appears in sections 1031 and 1032 of the National Defense Authorization Act bill. One section of these provisions, section 1031, can be interpreted as allowing the military to capture and detain American citizens on United States soil. This allows the U.S. Military to perform law enforcement activities domestically.
The potential here is the American citizens can now be labeled as domestic terrorists and tossed into some military slammer somewhere, with no recourse whatever. Well, why not? Didn't Lincoln do it in his administration? The "history" books seldom mention the 38,000 Northerners imprisoned in federal prisons during the War of Northern Aggression, most of whom were innocent of any wrongdoing whatever.
So "King Lincoln" set a precedent that "Obamessiah" has picked up on and will, undoubtedly, carry to new and wondrous heights.
Folks, we need to realize the truth. The "land of the free" is a thing of the past. It no longer exists, no matter what government liars tell you. We are living in "post-America." When the public school-educated electorate sends a Marxist to the White House then they have got to expect that his administration will produce and promote Marxism in some form--and Obama has not disappointed in this area. I wonder how much the electorate is enjoying the fruits of its vote. Source
