Thirty big corporations actually spent more money lobbying the federal government between 2008 and 2010 than they spent in taxes.
While the corporate/government courtship is disgraceful, true, understand that any taxes, fines, and all other expenses are passed along to their shareholders in lower equity and customers by higher prices. Do you really believe if these corporate shysters were made to pay more that your taxes would go down? Do you think executive compensation plans would take a severe hit?
