Four members of a Food and Drug Administation (FDA) board charged with evaluating the risks of birth control drugs like Yaz and Yasmin had ties to the pharmaceutical companies that made them or the generic equivalent. Not surprisingly, all four members voted that the benefits of the drugs outweighed the risks, even though the risks included potentially deadly blood clots.
