President Obama Is Preparing to Violate the Posse Comitatus Act
October 17, 2013 1:03 am By James Bailey
Liberals groups have attempted to do damage control by twisting his statement to say the opposite of what he said. For example, Factcheck.org posted the following ridiculous explanation:
Obama was not talking about a “security force” with guns or police powers. He was talking specifically about expanding AmeriCorps and the Peace Corps and the USA Freedom Corps, which is the volunteer initiative launched by the Bush administration after the attacks of 9/11, and about increasing the number of trained Foreign Service officers who populate U.S. embassies overseas.
There is no chance that a “national security force that is just as powerful, just as strong, just as well funded” as the United States military could possibly be referring to the Peace Corps! That is complete nonsense. Anyone who can make that statement with a straight face deserves at least a little credit. Since they posted it online we might never know if they were able to pull it off or not.
Perhaps Factcheck.org forgot to check the facts on this one, so let’s consider the facts. President Obama has done exactly what he said he wanted to do. He has turned the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) into a powerful domestic military force. Since 2010, they have purchased over 2 billion rounds of ammunition. Their explanation is they need it for training purposes. That makes no sense because most of their purchases are hollow-tip bullets, which are not used for training purposes because they cost nearly twice as much as regular bullets.
Hollow-tip bullets are very deadly because they expand on impact to about 2.5 times their normal width. They are used only in urban warfare where the objective is to kill people without accidentally killing the wrong people because the bullets cannot penetrate buildings or walls.
DHS has also failed to explain why they have purchased such large quantities of ammunition. At the height of the Iraq War, our military used less than 6 million rounds per month. Therefore, Homeland Security is purchasing enough ammunition to sustain a domestic war for over 20 years (Source: Forbes).
These MRAP vehicles are now being spotted on U.S. streets all across the country. They are equipped to withstand IED’s, mine blasts, and 50 caliber hits to bullet-proof glass. All of them have gun ports too (Source: Modern Survival Blog).
